Build a retaining wall, conduct environmental testing, observe a quarry operation, and participate in an aviation rescue simulation... also sleep over on a submarine!  

Overnight participants will receive a guided tour and overnight accommodation on board a World War II submarine. In addition to undertaking various educational activities, participants will be offered special supervised access to some non-public areas of the submarine and admission to the museum.

Your 2nd to 5th grader is invited to experience an exciting night of exploration, discovery, wonder, and education on a SeaWorld Orlando sleepover. Led by a team of animal experts, your group will dive right into adventure as they tour SeaWorld’s animal habitats after hours. We will learn about the plight of Florida’s most endangered marine animals and what SeaWorld is doing to help.

The SeaWorld Orlando group sleepover lasts from 6 PM until 11 PM the next day and includes:

  • Sleeping next to their amazing animals in one of the unforgettable Dolphin venues overnight. 
  • Standards-based educational activities will highlight the theme of our program.
  • A pizza dinner and an ice cream treat in the evening and a continental breakfast the next morning.
  • SeaWorld park entry the next day and we will be able to continue our sea-filled adventure enjoying all the shows and attractions that this world-class park has to offer!

Kids Ultimate Fitness Challenge

The Kids Ultimate Fitness Challenge is the nations largest mobile fitness event traveling from coast-to-coast dedicated to helping keep kids healthy and active. At the Kids Ultimate Fitness Challenge, kids of all ages get the opportunity to flex their physical fitness by participating in a time-based obstacle course that includes sprinting, jump roping, wall crawls, hurdles, jumping jacks, sit ups, and tunnel crawls, before finishing off the course with a 20 foot confidence climb and 60 meter dash to the finish. The event features loads of activities for the whole family to enjoy including Xtreme gaming fun for all ages and on-site programming designed to inspire kids and families to live a more active and healthy lifestyle. If you think you have what it takes to take on the challenge, come test your fitness and conquer the challenge!

Fantasy Theatre Summer Camp

Do you love to perform? Want to act on the SDMCAC stage? Our summer camp is the place for you. Each of one-week program provides an energetic, professional environment to explore an interest in theatre. Campers will receive training from theatre professionals in acting, movement and voice, musical theatre technique, improvisation, rehearsal techniques and audition skills. In addition to these fun classes, all campers will have a featured role in our final showcase performance!

One of the best rewards of camp is that students meet and form lasting friendships with other kids who love theater and live throughout the area.

Richard Haas’ murals have been painted on blank walls of buildings in cities throughout the United States, including Miami! View over 50 Haas works on paper, preparatory sketches and models donated to the Museum’s Permanent Art Collection and then JOIN US as we create our very own collaborative community mural!

Hispanic Heritage Festival

The Caribbean Day School in Miami will be putting on a production at their school in which they teach the children what it means to be hispanic and why we should appreciate and celebrate their culture.
